Architecture & Design| Build It Up! - Educating minority youth about the profession of architecture and design. The impact of architecture in our communities. Opportunity for exposure to design and planning. Hands-on projects, field trips, and mentor-ships.
Coding with Hidden Genius- Youth Lead instruction. Exposing the youth to fundamental activities around basic computer science and coding concepts, including sequence, selection, and repetition. The students will learn front-end development skills utilizing HTML,CSS, and JavaScript.
Culinary- The program provides not only culinary skills training but also food and safety handling. With a spice of creativity and fun. While youth learn the basics of cooking, they will foster better eating and nutritional habits. Inspiring them to share the excitement of new recipes with their families.
Culinary Enterprise and Training extension- Operation of on-site and off-site culinary business enterprises, presented within the framework of a social enterprise.
Fam 1st Music Studios |Beat Making- Welcome Next Generation Producers. Mr. Williams aka Wordy, will be guiding and helping you in becoming the next generation of amazing artist and producers. We recommend that you bring a pencil and paper if you wish to take notes. (It is not required but we guarantee you will like what you are learning!) With Mr. Williams as your guide, we aim to have fun filled weeks with you and look forward to hearing the amazing music that you will be producing in the studio. That is right, you are no longer in a classroom but the studio.
Unfinished Learning- A program designed to assist students with homework and ensure that they understand grade level content. Unfinished learning provides additional academic foundation support with the goal in mind that students can perform well at grade level-they just have unfinished learning.
Young Entrepreneurs|Business Building- The YIB program focuses on creating business plans for business enterprises providing solutions to community problems (i.e. Grocery cooperatives or customized lunch enterprises for schools). Installing entrepreneurial confidence in youth and giving them the tools to further develop their own ideas. Understanding and creating business plans. Each week students will have a lecture to discuss a new subject area. Topics to be covered -products & services, pricing, team building, customer research, market research, marketing and sales. The program also provides some financial literacy training and an introduction to stocks and bonds and stock marketing. The class is for youth aged 9 to 18, tailored according to age.
Civic Scholars Entrepreneurship- The C.S.E program focuses on exposing and guiding youth (ages 13-18 yrs old) through political participation and social entrepreneurship within historically undeserved communities, to inspire urban youth to consider careers in Public Administration while leveraging their entrepreneurial mindsets to develop programs, services, and/ or jobs that solve some of the problems that persist most in their communities.
